We are Sandra and Marcos, a mother-son team from Spain, deeply passionate about our country and, in particular, Madrid. We've combined our strengths—my extensive property and rental management background and Marcos's expertise in marketing and project management—to run a thriving Airbnb management business in Madrid. 

Hi Sandra & Marcos, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

After falling in love with Spain, in particular Madrid, we decided to join forces and put our expertise to work running an Airbnb management business in Madrid.

I (Sandra) have extensive experience in the property and rental industry. For over 30 years, I have worked in franchising and property management, learning the ins and outs of the trade. Eventually, I brought my son Marcos aboard to turn our joint experience into a family business.

Marcos earned his marketing degree and went on to get a project management certification. Now, he's ready to put everything he learned into action. He shares my dedication, passion, and knowledge – a true expert in his field.

Tell us a bit about why Madrid is desirable as a short-term rental hotspot...

Madrid is the heart of Spain, literally and figuratively. It's the rich cultural capital famed for its historical heritage, excellent art museums, delicious culinary scene, and, of course, endless sunshine. The city sees around 1.7 million tourists annually, who collectively contribute tens of millions of euros to the local economy.

As such, there are always tons of globetrotters, travellers, and visitors looking for a short-term rental during their stay. Plus, as a major Spanish business centre, tens of thousands of businesspeople visit the city alongside the thriving tourism sector.

The city is home to renowned attractions like the Prado Museum and the Royal Palace (Palacio Real) – the largest palace in Europe. Or, if you're a modern art-lover, there's the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, home to Picasso's Guernica and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Meanwhile, foodies can sample jamon, tapas, and Vino Tinto for a true taste of Spanish cuisine.

Real Madrid is also one of the biggest football teams in Europe. They see tens of thousands of visitors come to see them play – either from Spain itself or the rest of the world. It's just one more factor that pulls people to Spain's iconic capital.

With an extensive public transport network and the nearby Madrid-Barajas Airport, travellers can easily get to and from their accommodation.

Even with two people running an Airbnb business, you can do only so much. Turning to Pass the Keys was a strategic decision. We wanted to do more and be more effective.
