Who is the Franchise Owner/the team and a brief overview of their background?

Stacey Cooper is the owner of the franchise. She has a background in Finance, IT and project management, a passion for all things property and has been involved in the industry since 2016.

During the pandemic, we had a problematic tenant, once they moved from the property we turned the house into serviced accommodation to meet the demand of key workers. This was a great success and 2 years later I was looking to expand. 

While looking to expand, I was keen to find a way to manage the current house and this was proving a challenging task. No management companies seemed to offer everything I wanted. I came across Pass the Keys and this seemed to tick all the boxes I was after, a fully managed service.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I love a challenge, whether that's with business or in my personal life! I enjoy challenging myself to raise money for charity, I have done a skydive and currently in training for a Triathlon and Half Marathon.

I love to give back to the community, and have been a trustee for my children's school PTA.

I love to get away in my camper van, Ruby. She is an old classic, VW baywindow, which sometimes spends more of her time in the garage getting repaired than she does on the road… but she's part of the family! 

I am obsessed with all things property! We renovated our own home, we have an old classic victorian house and altho we have modernized it, we have also been sympathetic to the ears. 

What drew you to partnering with Pass the Keys?

I was looking for a company that could manage my own short term let and in the process I came across the opportunity to become a partner with PTK, they offer a fully managed hands-off service and are backed by technology to help them grow.

The systems and procedures that are in place are the foundations to what will make the business successful, and as these are tried and tested I don't need to make the same mistakes. I get to have the support/backing of a larger company/brand and be able to concentrate on what I love the most… the people and the property! 

Why is Doncaster and North Lincolnshire good for short-letting on platforms like Airbnb?

Why not! Just because the area isn’t as beautiful as the likes of the Lake District or as popular as London it doesn't mean there isn't demand for short term let in the area. 

Doncaster has just been awarded city status and which will bring redevelopment and regeneration in the area which in turn brings with it contractors who would rather have a home-from-home experience than a single room in a hotel. People coming back home to visit friends and family also like to have their own space and a home-from-home stay is perfect, especially when they have kids in tow. Hospitals have a higher staff turnover and are reliant on people working away from home, again bringing workers to the area needing a place to stay. 

The way we travel has changed, hotels for longer stays are not always wanted, that home-from-home experience is more and more popular regardless of your reason to travel to the area. The area also has some great rural villages, perfect for a relaxing weekend away with a loved one.
