Brighton and Hove has always been a firm favourite with both international and home-grown visitors, for pleasure, for business and for enjoying the healing sea breeze. We already have one successful Brighton franchise but with Airbnb and the rise in staycations looking to become the “new normal”, we’re really excited to be launching a second franchise to cater for increasing demand.

As Airbnb Professional Co-hosts we pride ourselves in delivering an excellent service to our hosts. Allowing them to relax and enjoy their extra income, stress-free, while we take care of all the details, from helping to prepare the property to the covid safe cleaning, ensuring that the guest has a fabulous stay in their home away from home.

We’ve chosen to work with Vicky and Balbir because of their extensive knowledge of managing residential properties and their passion for Airbnb and short lettings.

And we interviewed them to learn more:

Can you tell us a bit about yourselves?

Originally from London and Nottingham, we moved to Brighton 12 years ago - via our own olive farm in the Spanish mountains, a sleepy hamlet in the deepest Norfolk countryside and a thriving property business in the green Welsh valleys. We have a passion for property and have worked together building, developing and managing our own portfolio for almost 30 years.

What drew you to partnering with Pass the Keys?

We first came across Pass the Keys while searching for a company to take care of our penthouse in Swansea Marina. We’ve achieved Airbnb Superhost status ourselves and were really impressed with Pass the Keys; the tech, the efficiency of the systems and the strong community. We saw a way to combine our love of property with our love of staying in Airbnb’s while travelling to far-flung places. Living like a local gives us a completely different travel experience and has allowed us to stay in some incredible places, from a secluded octagonal cottage on the Isle of Skye to a forest temple in Bali.

Why is Brighton and Hove good for short-letting on platforms like Airbnb?

Brighton and Hove is famous for being an open-minded, forward-thinking, if slightly eccentric city that embraces the new. This attracts like-minded visitors from all countries and walks of life, who really enjoy the freedom and home comforts of an Airbnb. Pass the Keys already have some gorgeous properties under management, ranging from quirky fishermen’s cottages in the North Laine to sumptuous flats in Kemptown. And we’re really looking forward to adding more.

What is your top tip for homeowners wanting to short-let their property?

It’s important to make sure your property really stands out from the crowd. Introduce colour and character with a few carefully selected pictures, ornaments, cushions, books and silk flowers to give an inviting homely feel. Get beautiful professional photos taken, once the property is sparkling clean and perfectly staged.
