Explore West London with Pass the Keys!

We all love a bit of history and culture! In this week’s blog, we would like to take you on tour around one of our favourite parts of London - West London. As a property management company, we often get asked ‘What is the most successful area in London’ and we can never answer that question. Here are just a few of our favourite West London Boroughs:

    Ladbroke Grove

Named after James Weller Ladbroke, who built the Ladbroke Estate in the 1840s, Ladbroke Grove is not only one of our favourite areas but also home to the Notting Hill Carnival which draws almost a million people every year. The event is Europe’s biggest street festival and, after a two-year break due to the pandemic, the carnival returns to London in August 2022. This cultural hotspot attracts tourists from all over the world also because of the famous romantic comedy “Notting Hill” which was filmed there. If you fancy a romantic comedy evening at home and haven’t watched it yet, we strongly recommend that you add it to your Netflix list. And, if you prefer a much more “tangible” experience, our Victorian houses will make you feel like you’re in the middle of the movie set!

    Portobello Road

Hosting the largest antique and vintage clothing market is not a joke! Over 1,000 dealers sell their items every month, making Portobello Road one of the most visited areas in London. The road runs almost parallel to Ladbroke Grove and is home to the world’s biggest street market - you can find almost anything at Portobello market. Whether you are looking to try out some freshly made food, buy a vintage outfit, source a unique gift or just people-watch, you will not be disappointed with what this area has to offer. From locals to celebrities and tourists, Portobello Road attracts a truly diverse community - you can meet people from different cultures and, frankly speaking - from all walks of life. We are delighted to be the host of some of our top-performing properties located right on Portobello Road.

    Hammersmith and Thames Path

Hammersmith is a lively residential neighbourhood boarded by the River Thames. It is home to the Hammersmith Apollo, a popular concert hall and entertainment venue which has hosted world-famous performers such as The Beatles, David Bowie and Queen. It is also home to the gold and green Hammersmith Bridge which is a Grade II listed structure and one of the oldest suspension bridges in London. With its artsy vibe and picturesque riverside scenery, Hammersmith is the perfect spot for both a cultural night out and a peaceful walk by the river. Talking about river walks, we should not miss mentioning the Thames Path - a National Trail following the River Thames that is a must-visit for anyone who loves to spend time outdoors. If you’re staying at any of our properties in West London, we would definitely recommend a trip to the Thames Path - you will be amazed by the breathtaking views!
