Bath has truly leapt into Spring; the days are getting longer and brighter and the Easter school holidays are only a stone’s throw away. With this in mind, we want to share a range of fun activities to keep your little ones busy. As Bath parents (and owners of Bath franchise Pass the Keys), we always keep our ears to the ground to keep our family entertained. So, if you’re looking to visit Bath during the break, or if you’re a local; we have all scales of budget covered.

    1. Holiday art camps and Easter trails - Holburne Museum

There are spaces left for the Holburne Museum’s kids art camp days; Thursday 4 April is Japan Inspires, Tuesday 9 April is Print, Patter and Repeat and Wednesday 10 April is Cabinet of Curiosities. Holburne Art Camps provide a full day of creative fun for children, delivered by experienced artists.
Each day is designed to explore new skills, art practices and exciting materials. All our activities are inspired by wonderful objects and stories from the museum collection as well as our temporary exhibitions. The days run from 9am until 4pm for children aged 6 – 11 years old and tickets are £45
    per day, per child.

The museum is also hosting free drop-ins too, for families. There is a free Find the Easter Hare family trail from Friday 29 March to Sunday 14 April, 8am – 5pm. Come and explore the museum, with a pick up a ‘Draw & Explore’ trail and find the Easter hares hiding in the Holburne’s collection and grounds.

    2. Easter Party – Ston Easton Village Hall

A joyful family friendly day out is guaranteed on Friday 29 March, midday to 3pm. There is lots of egg-citing stuff planned for the event including easter craft activities for the children, Easter Bunny dance-along, face painting, Easter Raffle, Stalls, Refreshments cakes and – of course – chocolate! Tickets for adults are £2, and £5 for children. This is a Community Fundraising Event run by volunteers in aid of a local non for profit HeartTalks, which is a peer support service providing hope and empowering voices for parents and families following IVF, Pregnancy or Babyloss. Pre-book your ticket here.

    3. Free Easter bunny trail – Beckford Tower and Museum

This Easter, families can enjoy a self-led garden trail, available in the grounds of Beckford’s Tower between 28 March to 14 April. No booking required! The bunnies in the garden have all escaped to send a message - collect a trail map from the Tower Gatehouse and then set off to hunt for hidden decorated bunnies. There are 16 named bunnies. Can you find all their names? Once you’ve completed the trail, the bunnies will have shared a secret message… What will it say?

Families are invited to take a stroll to the Tower, whilst it’s closed, to enjoy the bunnies in the beautiful nature that surrounds the landscape of the Tower. Come and explore Lansdown Cemetery, establishing a communal sense that it is not just Beckford’s Tower and Landscape, it is Our Tower.

    4. Easter Egg Hunt - Newton St Loe

The very popular Newton Farm Easter Egg Hunt is back! Hunt for eggs and receive your own chocolate goodie box, filled with Easter treats! You will also get the opportunity to have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny and meet some farm animals. Hosted 10am – 2pm on Friday 29 March, with tickets at £5 per child.

    5. Easter cupcake decorating – No 3 café in Weston Village

Come and decorate (and then enjoy) an Easter cupcake with fondant, with a cup of hot chocolate for £5 a child from 2pm – 3pm on Wednesday 3 April – Friday 5 April, and then again on Tuesday 9 April – Friday 12 April.

    6. Climate Hub Springtime free events – Bath Assembly Rooms

Daisies and other wildflowers in long grass

A collection of green organisations has gathered to share information and ideas about positive action for a sustainable future. From Friday 22 to Sunday 22 March, 11am – 2pm there is a free programme of events including a few children’s nature activities, eco fair, evening events and free workshops – aimed at the whole family. Support, learn, connect and act together. More information on the individual events can be found here.
